The Marketplace
The invoice discounting marketplace is part of the factoring ‘financial service’ family. The market continues to grow at a healthy rate, especially at the lower end of the sales volume scale, i.e. unique Interface market niche.
Interface has always enjoyed great success working with smaller emerging companies. Our client profile shows that these companies have sales probably in the range of $350,000.00 up to about $4 million per annum and have been in business in some cases for as little as 5 or 6 months and usually not much more than 4 years.
Invoice Discounting is a mature financial service both in North America and on a world wide basis.
According to the World Factoring Yearbook 2006/7 (published by BCR Publishing of Bromley, Kent, England), there were over 60 countries reporting a domestic and export factoring industry in the year 2005.
The volume of factored/discounted receivables continues to escalate as can be seen from the table below, which shows the year-by-year volume worldwide. The numbers are quoted in U.S. dollars and have been converted from source information recorded in Euros.
